Personal Learning Design Philosophy
My philosophy as a learning designer is a goal-oriented approach. I believe is starting with the desired outcomes and designing material that targets the specific knowledge, skills, or attitudes that will have an impact on that goal. I believe that all content should be learner-focused and built around sound learning theory. Once created and implemented, all courses must be effectively analyzed for relevant data to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
My clients have seen these results firsthand. Most recently, I created a course for the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago to onboard a team of summer camp counselors. The final course takes into account the learners previous experience and skills and was built with numerous areas for data analysis to ensure a robust course into the future.
